Unit 7 Registration Information for the 2020-2021 School Year
Unit Seven Schools will hold registration at individual campuses for all K-12 students on Tuesday, August 4, 12:00 - 7:00pm and on Wednesday, August 5, 8:00am - 2:00pm. Both days of registration will be at your child’s attendance center only; there will be no centralized registration this year at the Junior High facility.
Parents and guardians of returning students will be able to register their children online. Each building has specific information about completing forms available on their school website and will share information about how to complete the registration process online and/or procedures in place to limit the number of visitors to each building at one time.
Each school’s online registration forms will be made available on August 4.
Any new student(s) to the district must schedule an appointment with a building administrator to register their child in-person. Parents and guardians may sign up for an appointment by visiting the school website or calling the school office. Parents of Kindergarten students will also sign up to complete a Kindergarten screening when they visit to register.
Parents or guardians who choose not to have their child attend for in-person instruction will notify individual schools at registration. Students will be provided guided remote learning for the semester. Information about guided remote learning is being developed and will be shared on July 31, 2020 so that families can make an informed decision when registering.
The first day of attendance for Unit Seven students in grades first through twelfth is Wednesday, August 19, 2020.
School buses will run regular routes starting August 19. Busing information will be available at registration.
Kindergarten conferences will be held August 19 and 20. Conference sign-ups will be available at registration. The first regular day for Kindergarten students is Friday, August 21. All students entering kindergarten must be five years of age or reach their fifth birthday by September 1, 2020.
Textbook rental fees for the 2020-2021 school year are $95 for K-8 and $130 for 9-12 students. Additional course fees will be charged for some courses at Unity High School. Textbook fees should be paid at the time of registration. Payments can be made online using the Mealtime online payment system.
The regular cost for breakfast is $1.80 for all students. Lunch is $2.90 for grades K-5 and $3.10 for grades 6-12. Milk costs 30 cents.
Kindergarten, sixth, ninth grade students and new students must have a physical examination and present the certificate of health approved by a licensed Illinois physician; ninth graders are required to have a dental exam as well. These forms are available at all school buildings. The district expectations are that each student be in compliance with the State of Illinois Immunization and Health Standards by the first day of school. All kindergarten students and all new students to Unit Seven Schools have thirty days from the opening of school to submit their physical to the office.
