Our character education throughout the year is framed as “Rockets SOAR.” Each quarter students are learning about being Safe, Organized, Ambitious, and Respectful.

A few notes about Halloween: Our school will not have students wear costumes at school this year. Halloween-themed face coverings are allowed, but must be an effective COVID-mask and be school appropriate (eg. not scary, gruesome, or violent). Classrooms may have Halloween or seasonal activities, but will not have visitors for parties or activities. Our student senate is asking for costume pictures; see the school website for more information.
Please send your student with an extra mask or two in their backpack. The office has a limited supply of masks to hand out and students often need replacements.
As weather gets colder, please also be sure to send your child with the necessary cold-weather gear for playing outside. Temperatures and wind are often more harsh on our prairie.
This year students can bring birthday treats that are individual, pre-packaged, store-bought snacks that the teacher can pass out (eg. cosmic brownies, cheez-it bags, fruit snacks, etc). Students may not bring cakes, cupcakes, homemade items, or items not individually wrapped.
A friendly reminder that our school will have early dismissals at 2:05pm on the last day before both Thanksgiving and Winter Breaks.
Last year Unit 7 adopted a remote eLearning plan to be used when snow, inclement weather, or other unplanned emergencies cause schools to close. When a remote/eLearning day occurs, all students will have activities to continue learning at home.
Elementary teachers have prepared paper-based activities that will be distributed to students and/or families. Look for communication from your child’s teacher about arrangements for these “snow day” packets. Remote/eLearning days are considered school days and assigned activities are required for students to complete and turn in.
