It’s Spring cleaning time! PTO has the perfect solution for those new or gently used books. Please consider donating them to the book drive by sending them to school with your child or dropping them off in the school office. Books will be collected until April 29, then distributed to students May 19 & 20th. Every student will receive at least one book for summer reading!
3rd Quarter report cards are being sent home on Friday, March 25.
Spread the word - Kindergarten Orientation Night will be held at Unity East on Monday, April 4 from 6-7pm. Meet our Kindergarten teachers and office staff, tour classrooms, and find out how you can help your child prepare for his or her first day as a Unity Rocket! Kindergarten is open to students turning 5 by Sept. 1, 2022.
Students in grades 3-5 will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness the week of April 4. We ask that appointments and absences for students be limited as much as possible this week.
Our third annual Unity East Read-a-thon was a great success. Students read over 75,000 minutes and raised over $12,000 in support for our school. Thank you to everyone who helped and who contributed to our Read-a-thon!
Congratulations to our top readers from the Read-a-thon - those students who read for over 1,000 minutes - Zachary Ruhter, Adeline Marinelli, Carolina Popovics, Lee Marinelli, Luc Popovics, Sylvia Cahill, Savanna Smith, Stella Smith, Logan Nasser, Layla Westbay, Kyle Roosevelt, Ashlyn Estes, and Isaac Leaman!
This spring our students will be enjoying end-of-year field trips. Thanks to your generous support through our two fundraisers, our PTO is able to cover bus expenses and the Read-a-thon funds are covering field trip fees this school year.
In Partnership,
Mr. Carver, Principal
